Montclair State Falls to TCNJ in Heartbreaking NJAC Final

Montclair State came within seconds of capturing the NJAC championship, but a late TCNJ comeback handed the Red Hawks an 83-81 loss at the Panzer Athletic Center. Montclair led by as many as 12 points in the second half and still held a seven-point advantage with just over three minutes remaining before the Lions closed the gap.

Kabrien Goss led Montclair State with 18 points and briefly put the Red Hawks back ahead with a late jumper. TCNJ answered with the final four points, including Matthew Solomon’s go-ahead dunk with seven seconds left. Montclair had one last chance, but its final shot was blocked, ending the Red Hawks’ championship run in heartbreaking fashion.
